Library Journal Review

Mielke here delivers a short, well-illustrated guide to canine anatomy. This slim volume, totaling fewer than 100 pages and including illustrative drawings and pictures, gives a clear overview of the canine body. Divided into sections on the locomotor system, internal organs, heart and circulation, the lymphatic system, skin and hair, the nervous system, and the senses, this book explains in easily understandable terms how a dog's body functions. The text also includes appendixes with lists of selected terms in both English and Latin for different parts of the body and other relevant anatomical terms. VERDICT Concise and to the point, this makes a nice volume for dog owners who are interested in understanding the way their pet's body operates.-Diana Hartle, Univ. of Georgia Lib., Athens (c) Copyright 2011.
